Real Stories, Real Results

We started nexolavira in 2018 because too many finance professionals were struggling with budget variance analysis in their day jobs. Our story began with one question: why aren't universities teaching the practical skills people actually need?

From Frustration to Solution

After watching countless talented accountants struggle with real-world budget variance scenarios, we knew something had to change. Traditional education wasn't connecting the dots between theory and practice.

Isabella Thornfield, our founder, spent twelve years working directly with Australian businesses facing complex financial challenges. She noticed the same pattern everywhere – smart people with solid academic backgrounds who felt lost when dealing with actual variance analysis.

That's when we decided to build something different. Not another theoretical course, but practical training based on real scenarios from actual Australian businesses.

Meet Our Founder

Isabella spent over a decade working with Australian businesses, from small manufacturing companies in Brisbane to large retail operations in Melbourne. She's the person who figured out why traditional budget variance training wasn't working.

What really shaped her approach was working with a mid-sized construction company in 2019. Their finance team had all the right qualifications but couldn't identify why their project budgets kept going sideways. After three months of hands-on work, she realized the gap wasn't knowledge – it was practical application.

That experience became the foundation for nexolavira's teaching method. Isabella believes the best way to learn variance analysis is by working through real scenarios, not memorizing formulas. She still works directly with our advanced students, bringing fresh insights from current business challenges.
